Yankari Game Reserve and National Park is one of Nigeria’s landmark tourist locations.

The Park is the first of its kind in West Africa and attracts tourists from different parts of the world.

Located about 115km south-east of Bauchi Town in Alkaleri Local Government, the Yankari game reserve is large wildlife covering about 2,244 square kilometers south of the state.

The reserve is home to animals such as;

The Marshall Cave is one of the most popular attractions in Bauchi State.

A British historian, P. J Marshal, discovered the caves in the early part of the 20th century, hence the name.

The cave contains 59 dwelling caves in total – dug into sandstone escarpments, and early settlers who wanted to escape the enemy invasion and animal attacks used most.

This use is similar to that of the caves in Enugu State

Each cave has a length of 200 meters, a depth of 10 meters, and a width of 30 and 80 meters.

The caves feature rock paintings and engravings in various lines, presumably created by their initial inhabitants.
